FURTHER DETAILS
I have many Edge-to-Edge, block, borders, and triangle designs and can skew many designs into other irregular shapes. You many also look online for designs and purchase your preferred pattern in digital form and I can use that (please contact me before making your purchase to insure the file type is compatible with the Handiquilter).
Quilt Top, batting, backing and binding Details:
Quilt Top: Please make sure quilt tops are pressed, free of loose threads front and back. Seam allowances should be pressed and dog ears trimmed. Any pieced borders need to be stay-stitched around the edges within the area covered by the binding. Make sure the quilt top is square and lays flat, and has no embellishments like buttons, sequins or beads.
Batting: If you are providing the batting, it needs to be one piece, square and evenly trimmed 4 inches longer and wider than the quilt top. I can supply the batting and charge you for the yardage required.
Backing: It needs to be 6 inches longer and wider than the quilt top. If seamed, the seam should run horizontally, not vertically. Cut off all salvages.
Thread: I use OMNI thread – solid and variegated. You pick the color of the thread (the same thread color will be used on top and bottom).
Binding: If you provide 2 ½ inch strips for the binding, I can machine sew these onto the front while the quilt is on the frame. You will need to complete the binding.
